One of the aims of our new #ShareShop on Northgate Street in #Chester is to buy a derelict house in Chester and working with local trades people and businesses, turn it in to a warm home for 4 people who are currently homeless and sleeping on the streets of this city.
Working with Chester Aid to The Homeless (CATH) we will then support these people, our new #ShareShop will offer or find employment for these people. We will also offer training in the #ShareShop itself so they can become a fully qualified Barista if they wish, they will also be given new smart clothes perfect for interviews, a pack of toiletries and the all important CV and reference each.
Part of the beauty about the #ShareShop is that you can buy a coffee, clothes voucher, even a slice of cake for a person who is homeless and leave them a kind message. But now we are giving you the chance to BUY A BRICK for a person who is homeless which will be used to buy them a home. You will also be able to leave them a message of kindness when buying your brick or bricks.
Once we have sold 97,000 bricks for £1 each, we will have enough money to buy a derelict 3 bed house which we have identified in the city, this house will be fully refurbished and converted in to a 4 bed house.
We are asking all of the local schools, colleges and universities in Chester, to get involved and ask each student to bring in £1 or more and wear something red on Tuesday 1st March (St. Davids Day) this money will be used to BUY A BRICK for the house and turn it in to a warm home for 4 local homeless people.
Local businesses, churches, groups, clubs etc... are invited to get involved in the same way.
We are asking the local community in and around Chester to please BUY A BRICK or more each, to help change 4 local peoples lives right here in your home city.
We are also asking couples to Buy each other a Brick for Valentines Day as an expression of love to each other, those less fortunate and to the city of Chester.
