Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the “Built by her, Backed by us campaign 2025” promotional campaign (to be referred to as the “Campaign”).  

  1. The Promoter is Crowdfunder Ltd, (Crowdfunder, Crowdfunder.co.uk) 3 Southview House St Austell Enterprise Park, Carclaze, St Austell, Cornwall, PL25 4EJ and Muddy Stilettos Ltd The Dairy, Aston Stanford, Aylesbury, Bucks, HP17 8JB (Muddy Stilettos).
  2. The Campaign opens at 14:00pm on 15th May 2025 (the “Opening Date”) and closes at 11:59pm on 31st July 2025 (the “Closing Date”) (the “Promotional Period”). Projects will not be accepted before the Opening Date or after the Closing Date. 

Eligibility criteria

  • 3. Projects must meet the following criteria to be entered automatically into the Campaign:
    • a. You (the project owner) must be 18 years of age or over and be a UK resident.
    • b. You must have registered for the Campaign and your Project must be created on Crowdfunder.co.uk and be live by 1st July 2025 .  
    • c. You can only run one Project in the Campaign.
    • d. Your Project must be for a female led existing local business, social enterprise, community business or new business idea which is making a positive difference.
    • e. Your Project must raise a minimum of £1,000 on Crowdfunder.co.uk by 31st July 2025 and must have at least 25 unique supporters. To verify whether supporters are unique we will take account of information including, but not limited to: name, address, email addresses and payment card used.
    • f. Projects on ‘all or nothing’ must be 100% successful to be eligible.

Prizes

  • 4. All projects which meet the criteria in 3 above will be considered to win one of the following prizes:
    • 1st prize:£5,000 pledged to your project by Crowdfunder and a £5,000 Muddy Stilettos National promotional package (by rate card value) for the winner’s business or project.
    • 2nd prize:£1,000 pledged to your project by Crowdfunder and a £1,000 Muddy Stilettos Multi-region promotional package (by rate card value) for the winner’s business or project. 
    • 3rd prize:£500 pledged to your project by Crowdfunder and a £500 Muddy Stilettos county promotional package (by rate card value) for the winner’s business or project 

All Muddy Stilettos promotional packages are valid for 12 months from the date the Winners are announced and no later than 30th September 2026

  • The winning projects will be selected by the Promoter at their sole discretion by 8th September 2025 using the following criteria:
    • The level of community support for the project (judged by the number of pledges on the project) and social media engagement
    • Quality of the Crowdfunder project page and video. 
    • The types of projects and businesses focusing on:-
      • Community - a community enterprise which not only operates as a business but helps local people in the community, delivering social value with a new idea that they want to make happen.
      • Business - a local business founded and/or led by a woman who wants to step up to the next level with a new idea.
      • Startup - a female individual who’s starting a business from the ground up.

5.The decision of the Promoter as to which Projects are the winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. Should you wish to withdraw from the Backed by us campaign at any time please inform us via [email protected] 

7. The Promoter will notify the project owners of the Winning Projects by email by 12th September 2025. The winners will be announced on the Promoter’s websites and social channels.

0% platform fees

Projects registered for the campaign and which meet the eligibility criteria will be eligible for 0% platform fees. However, transaction fees will still apply. See our fees page for more details

General

8. You are responsible for all expenses incurred as a result of participating in this Campaign. This may include, but is not limited to, costs associated with the running of a project on Crowdfunder.co.uk, production of a promotional video, purchasing images or promoting the project.

9. By participating in the Campaign, you agree for the details of your name and your project, including supplied photos, written pitch and videos, to be made public on the Promoter’s social media channels.

10. Winners agree to be the subject of, and participate in, a case study to be published on the Promoter’s websites and social media channels for the purposes of promoting the Campaign and future campaigns. By entering into the Campaign you are providing your consent for this activity.

11. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the campaign or these terms and conditions at any stage but will only do so for reasons outside of their reasonable control. The Promoter will endeavour to minimise the effect of such cancellation or amendment on participants in order to avoid disappointment.

12. The Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost, incomplete or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server failures, virus, bugs or other causes outside its control. All lost, damaged or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.

13. The Promoter, in its sole discretion, may disqualify any Project at any stage for providing untruthful, inaccurate, misleading information and/or is otherwise in breach of these Terms.

15. These Terms are governed by and construed and performed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
