Bridge the Gap are a Community Interest Company and we support the mental health of our community. Covid has undoubtedly had a massive impact on all of our wellbeing. Families are reaching out for support through our service and we want to be able to deliver this at as low a cost as possible so that our service remains accessible. We have measured the impact of our service over the past few years and parents, schools and children have all shown improvements in their wellbeing and their knowledge around their mental health since working with Bridge the Gap. We strive to support families in feeling empowered to manage their mental health and know what to do if they are concerned.
Bridge the Gap would like to offer one to one and group therapeutic support sessions to families who have experienced mental health issues as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic, lockdowns and anxiety. We would like to continue to deliver early intervention to give children and their families the support they need before their issues escalate. Your support with this funding will also give families tools to use within the family to support the child and thus benefiting the whole family. We aim to support as many families as funding and resource allows. Families can be referred through schools or other professionals, we also take direct referrals from families too. Bridge the Gap have excellent working relationships with schools, professionals and families as well as a very good social media presence and interaction so this funding page will be shared through these networks. We strongly believe intervention from Bridge the Gap will be invaluable to both child and family mental health, with an additional positive impact on education. This will be the first time Bridge the Gap will have received crowd funding to deliver this kind of support and as such will be using the opportunity to closely monitor the success of our interventions through regular feedback from the child, family and school through online questionnaires which will assess the family at the beginning and end of the process to capture progress. There will be an additional follow up another 6 weeks after the end of the intervention to assess the longer term impact. Each year Bridge the Gap produce an Impact Report to assess their work so some families will be contacted again months after.
All sessions will be delivered by a highly qualified mental health professional - our team have experienced members of staff to include emotional literacy experts, mental health nurses, creative expressive therapists, family practitioners and occupational therapists. Research tells us that supporting families with an early intervention approach to their mental health, reduces the likelihood of developing mental health disorders in the future
Please help us to support the mental health of our community, which is sadly at it's lowest ever. Due to the impact of Covid, Bridge the Gap have lost much of our revenue, which would normally go into supporting family wellbeing. So we are reaching out to ask our community to support this much needed service. Thank you
