BANK OF HEROES
This is a Mother and son collaboration, aiming to donate all profits to the absolutely priceless frontline workers in the NHS; in particular, the wonderful staff at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton. The above piece of Art and poetry crossover, will be available as a commemorative A3 poster/print, easily framed with an off-the-shelf frame. All donations of £10 and above will guarantee a poster!
The artwork, by Robin Chesworth, is based on a £5 note - the lowest denomination of paper currency in the UK. This is to symbolise the worth many of these staff recently had placed on them by the Home Office. Many NHS frontline staff sat in the 'low-skilled' bracket, (earning under £25,000pa) - referrenced by the current Home Secretary, with regards to post-brexit immigration terms. As we all now know, the NHS is held up by these 'low-skilled' workers, many of whom have set up a life in this country, specifically to care for all of us. These workers are not low-skilled, they are PRICELESS and must never be forgotten again. Although the current times are so very very sad, this piece has been made as a special, commemorative work, to look back on in years to come. We should be proud of our heroes, who did everything in their power to overcome the effects of Covid-19 on society.
The artwork also features Florence Nightingale (a pioneer for modern nursing) in a face mask (highlighting our current plight) as well as Clement Atlee, who was Britain's post-war Prime Minister, who oversaw the creation of our cherished NHS.
The poem is by Carol Chesworth. It is an emotive journey through the current crisis, emphasising just how vital these frontline workers have been. The National Health Service is an integral part of who we are in a modern Britain. Never has it been more important to remember this. That is why we have created this one-off piece. We must never forget the struggles and sacrifices made by these heroes and this is one way we can say thank you. ALL profits will be donated to New Cross Hospital and their frontline staff.
Any donation of £10 and above, will guarantee that you get a poster!
Thank you and stay safe.
