New stretch target

We are absolutely amazed and incredibly grateful to all the wonderful people who have contributed to this amazing cause already. After just 7 days of going live, we have managed to hit our initial target of £500 AND our initial stretch goal of £1,000! We are now really pushing the limit and hoping to raise £2,000 by the end of the month to help Beards & Books buy sensory and mathematical equipment to further improve their online education services and increase their student reach by up to four times more. Can you show your support and help us make a difference?

Origins celebrates cultural harmony at Aviva and focuses on creating a safe environment for all colleagues regardless of their race, ethnicity, faith and socio-economic backgrounds.

For its third year of celebrations, Origins is bringing a charitable goal to Black History Month. We have chosen to support Beards & Books, an education programme based in Sheffield, which focuses on the following:

  • Providing free tuition
  • Delivering mentoring workshops
  • Publishing educational content
  • Hosting Storytime events
  • Curating subscription boxes for children and young people

Beards & Books help diverse communities by encouraging children and young people to read more multicultural books and be connected to role models.

Take a look at their website to get a feel for the community that they serve and to see the great work that they do.

We are looking to raise money to help expand their library with diverse stories, aid them in hosting outdoor Storytelling sessions and help develop their online services. Proceeds will impact numerous children’s lives from all walks of life and different racial backgrounds.

Aviva Origins is proud to be supporting this local charity who so importantly believes in the same values as us and understands the necessity to support children today, for a better tomorrow.
