Our idea is simple, to produce a rum on the Isle of Rùm. We need your help to kick start production of our first batch of Askival Rum.
Our Team
We are a team of four Scots who have a passion for rum and our home of Scotland. By combining these two we aim to produce a unique and exciting product.

We have set out with the goal of producing a premium rum that does the island it is named after justice. The Isle of Rùm hosts a diverse range of botanical plants and trees, from which we have selected a choice few to infuse with our five-year-old Caribbean rums. Scottish Chef Craig Grozier of Fallachan Dining has created our unique and distinctive recipe. The botanicals we have chosen provide a taste that reflects the Isle, kelp from the rugged shores, meadowsweet from the fields, spruce from the untouched forests along with a handful of others.
Our finished product provides an exceptional flavour profile and this starts with the premium base spirit we have chosen. We have then enhanced the notes in the rum by selecting key botanicals and honed the recipe. The finished rum is smooth but with subtle notes of vanilla, honey and citrus and can be joyed on ice or make part of a delicious cocktail.
Our branding and bottle continue without compromise on quality with a sprayed matte black bottle which will stand out on any shelf. With your help, we aim to have our first bottles of rum complete well in time for the Christmas period. UK delivery only.

Producing a rum on the Isle of Rùm speaks for its self and doesn't need a long explanation, it is the perfect location.
The History of the Isle of Rùm is ancient and complex and shrouded in mystery. Some of the earliest settlers in the British Isles landed on its shores and in more modern history, the island was purchased by the Bullough family in the 19th century. They proceeded to create a highland shooting retreat and built a castle in Kinloch village.
Towering over the Isle is the mountain called Askival. Apart from being the tallest peak on the Isle of Rùm, its meaning can easily be lost. Neither English nor Gaelic, the mountain was named in a time before the islands were Scottish and were subject to Viking rule. Named by Norse settlers its meaning is believed to be "Ash Tree Mountain" from when the island was covered in a deep forest. Although through several centuries the trees which once covered the island have disappeared like the Norse and later Gaelic languages which named landmarks across the Isle.
