We will raise awareness of the climate crisis with as many people as possible, in a unique, cinematic experience. Our choices matter.
What Is Anthropocene?
The Anthropocene is the idea that the Earth has entered a new epoch. It means humans have become the primary agents of change of the entire planet; altering it's natural systems, chains of effect, climate and landscape.
Anthropocene: The Human Era is an interactive short film where your choices catapult you through the imagined futures of our planet as we face the Climate Crisis.
Choosing multiple pathways, you will follow a young woman, sitting in her bathroom, clutching a pregnancy test. Her story divides into imagined futures, as she asks questions on whether or not it is ethical to have children in the wake of the Climate Emergency.
The project will be streamed through The Oxford Playhouse in early 2021.
'It is the story of our time' 'Stunning imagery, masterfully executed'
The project already has backing from The Oxford Playhouse and TORCH (Oxford University) who have pledged their support and seed funding along with the Arts Council England and Visual Elements.
Through people power, we aim to secure the final leg of funding that is crucial to produce this short film and help raise the awareness this urgent message needs.
What exactly would you be funding?
Your support means you would be directly funding the delivery of the film along with our 14 artists and independent companies - who have all been severely impacted by Covid-19.
