All Weather Art Club creative respite for families

Aim

Giving young people who are living with a disability confidence, inspiration and enjoyment through art and nature

I've worked with SPAEDA since 2001 and this year for the first time (and possibly the last!) I walked on hot coals to raise funds for children and young people experiencing chronic pain and other physical difficulties. I'm also trying out crowd funding here for the first time to raise funds for a new kind of art club that will provide respite and laughter for families who are supporting these young people. 

The All Weather Art Club is a new club that will give children and their families a chance to try arts activities in a safe and inspiring outdoor environment. We will use the funds we raise to bring in specialist artists, with a real empathy for inclusive practice. Artists will lead creative activities such as 3D making, exploring and drawing, photography, poetry, creative writing and storytelling.

As a leading arts education charity, SPAEDA act to maximise children and young people's engagement with arts and culture, reducing barriers to participation and building confidence and skills in arts leaders. We provide educational training, resources and research to inspire confidence, build self-esteem, raise aspiration and develop resilience in children and young people. 

Every young person deserves the chance to create, imagine and be inspired by arts and culture. Today with your help we can provide experiences to develop resilient, imaginative and courageous children and young people.
