Album Narcissistic Councilor Release

by Ian mortimer in Waterlooville, Hampshire, England

I'm trying to raise funds to help get the final stages for the album and get the album mixed and mastered and released world wide

by Ian mortimer in Waterlooville, Hampshire, England

Not quite
Unfortunately this project was not successful.

Album is being mix and mastered by a new engineer a whole new sound and mix has been brought to the table giving it a bigger, better sounding album.
I would like to release the album earlier than 2019 if I can, with your help this can be possible.

Drop Oblivion is the brain child of UK based solo composer Ian Mortimer. After getting into the local Metal scene in 2006 performing with various bands over the years, he started an outlet in 2014 for his own heavy creations with Drop Oblivion. Originally conceived as a “just for fun” project, Ian began working with other musicians on some initial demo tracks, and created an entire album of material over the course of a few days. As Ian progressed and focused on performing with his other ambient project “Skin For A Canvas”, Drop Oblivion took a back seat for a few years until 2017 when new demos were taken into full production at his home studio in England.

Some  reviews of the first version of the single Damaged goods so far

a little update as heard a newer mix of the single damaged goods-----
( Thank you so much! Sounds much sharper and clearer now. Most of all the different parts and sections come out to the front. Now it's clear how many riffs and finer undertoned effects this track has in it. The new drum sound also supports the easier understanding of "Damaged Goods" - it's like it's putting marks and properly pointing parts into their direction now.  The guitars got some new riffs in them I think. One section is brand new - the one where the guitars are quite for a few sections.  The vocals have a more constant line in them now. The overall tonality of the demonicness feels like one layer being constant through the whole duration now. It's fascinating to hear how much one track can change with such a overhaul. Very well done!)

With more Crushing guitar parts, More demonic like vocals to chill you to the bone, guests from other bands joined in the adventure of this record.
This album is not on the comedy level like the first album 'To Hell We March', released in 2014,
I've spent the last year or so carefully writing and putting together a much more serious album with lyrics on on more serious subjects such as anxiety, Depression and battling within your own mind so i really hope it can connect to you in ways it has with me when writing these lyrics.

the first version Damaged Goods has been getting some real nice reviews.

"It's a pleasure to see that one man can give heavy music a push into a new direction. The fine thing about this single track is it's continuous push it gives. I like the constant going of the drums and the overall song-structure as composed to sound as one piece. Guitars are riff-oriented but not too loud making the listening experience smooth.

It's also fine to hear that the vocals take part on this journey and also it remains sounding as one bold metal track it also changes in it's way of dark tonality. There are many various undertones of the dark vocals that are presented with various pressure. The end comes a bit surprising with a guitar solo offered as part of the song structure instead of forming a own part as usual."

"Instantly, "Damaged Goods" gives you the full Melodic Death Metal experience. The intro isn't anything to extraordinary, but gives you the taste for blood. The vocals, once they kick in take on an almost Blackened Death approach. I am personally a fan of the vocals, they're strong and match the tone and pace of the song incredibly well, which is where a lot of Melodic Metal falls short. Front to back, musically "Damaged Goods" is a great piece of work."

9/10
''Damaged Goods is just over 4 minutes long. It starts with some really neat thrashy guitars before the drums jump in. They sound nice and meaty and have a catchy rhythm to them. The main riff in the verse is really solid – it makes you take notice and gets the blood pumping and the head banging. The vocals are demonic and have power to them and there is a little groove to the chorus which is really catchy. The guitars in the background sound great too but it is the little layer of symphonic programming that uplifts these sections.''

The first single taster track for the new album was released in December 2017 titled “Damaged Goods”, this is a powerful crushing combination of brutal guitars and demonic vocals, creating a big metal sound with symphonic undertones. For fans of Devin Townsend, Trivium, Architects, Neara, Any Given Day, Suicide Silence, Thy Art Is Murder, Killswitch Engage, Machine Head, Whitechapel, Slipknot, Fit For A King, Damaged Goods is now available digitally worldwide, and the completed album is expected for releasing in 2019.
