iMayflower: Leading a change in Plymouth’s creative economy

We’re ecstatic to announce that we’re a part of the iMayflower collaboration project. Along with our partners, we’ll be helping to lead an immensely positive change in Plymouth’s creative economy.

With over 7,000 people working in Plymouth’s digital and creative sector, it’s no surprise that there’s a massive demand for the city to realise its potential.

What is the iMayflower project?

The iMayflower project has been designed to provide a legacy from the commemorations of the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower setting sail from Plymouth towards America in 1620. This fantastic initiative will create jobs, support businesses, deliver training, and engage over 1.4 million people, celebrating and nurturing Plymouth’s incredible creative economy. This activity is done in partnership with Creative EnglandCrowdfunderDestination PlymouthPlymouth City CouncilPlymouth College of ArtReal Ideas Organisation and University of Plymouth.

Funded by a game changing grant of 3.5m from the Cultural Development Fund provided by DCMS and administered by Arts Council England and a match fund of 2.5m from partners, the iMayflower project aims to give Plymouth’s creative community the tools to create sustainable growth for the city, making change happen.

What is Crowdfunder’s involvement in the iMayflower?

Through the iMayflower project, our coaches will be on hand to share their crowdfunding expertise and we’ll be hosting events in Plymouth with our partners, enabling you to bring your great ideas to life.

Don’t forget that we’ve also got extra-funding of up to £10,000 from our funding partners to give you that much-needed boost!

By combining our efforts, the whole iMayflower network will be working together to shape a co-operative future, creating a nurturing community which will benefit the people of Plymouth.
