Fund Walsall Green Party to stand candidates in every constituency
We are a new local party started only 2 months ago & already have 1 MP candidate & hope to have 2 more, all we need now are the finances. When the video was first made we were only certain of getting one candidate to stand, we now have another two going through the process of selection, hence the initial amount of £700 we are looking to raise. But we will need a minimum of £1500 to stand all three candidates.
Walsall Green Party started and has shot off the mark, with making sure local voters can vote for green candidates. We have so far selected one candidate, who will be representing the Green Party of England and Wales for the Walsall South Constituency. And now need to raise the candidate fee of £500 and some additional funds to cover the costs of campaigning for votes. Walsall Green Party in particular as we are so new, doesn't have any finances yet, which also limits what we can offer. As you may or may not know, the Green Party doesn't have the same financial funding as other parties, so we need to raise a minimum of £500 to stand an MP candidate for Walsall, because of this fundamental funding difference the Green Party lack the funds required to stand MP's across the UK. Even the Party leader Natalie Bennett launched her own Crowdfunder appeal for her own constituency. The fee is £500 to stand as MP candidate per constituency - apparently this is to deter those people who are not serious, but the reality of it is, that it ensures only a certain type of person can stand, preventing those of us from poorer backgrounds or without the backing of multimillionaires and corporations from getting anywhere. Locally Walsall Borough as a whole is one of the more disadvantaged areas of the Midlands, with Walsall Borough Councils focus for essential spending spending focus is not on the deserving children’s centres, care homes and libraries which they plan to close. Not to mention the crumbling ghost town, town centres and ever disintegrating road network. It is vital that we aim to get Green MP's elected to over see the national interests of Walsall people, in order to focus on the long over due improvements to so many areas of daily life.
Nationally the opposition parties have already started to privatise the NHS something the Green Party wants to stop. Only days ago the opposition parties also voted to allow Fracking under our homes without the need for our consent or even a requirement to inform residents that it is even happening. Which means potential fatal disasters could happen with no warning to any home in England, because the Scottish and Welsh assemblies have voted against it along with may other countries in Europe and even American states.
But we believe a difference can be made, with YOUR HELP! We need to raise £500 per candidate, we want to stand as an MP in Walsall. All money over that amount goes towards campaign canvassing supplies and advertising, with a lager sum we can stand all of our candidates and cover the other two areas of Walsall Borough, to ensure a fair representation and a real choice for voters.
Please show your support for the Greens and help us to stand all three of our MP candidates. If we could find 1500 people to donate £1 each, a small amount of money by most peoples standards, we would be able to stand all three candidates! Or if 1000 people could donate £3 each we would succeed in raising the money needed to help publicise the campagines also.
For every pound pledged to Walsall Green Party, we can spread the word of the Green revolution to residents, many of whom have never heard of the Green Party before. And provide a real choice for an alternative vote when they go to polling stations on 7th May 2015.
