US Open Champion Michael Campbell Academy Training

Aim

We have been offered an incredible opportunity to train with 2005 US Open Champion Michael Campbell's Academy, in order to reach our dreams.

Our names are Abbey Gittings and Melissa Nicol, we are two female professional golfers playing on the Ladies European Access Tour. We are currently aspiring to play on the Ladies European Tour for the 2017 season with the ultimate aim of playing on the LPGA Tour in America by 2018.

We recently saved some money to spend some time at 2005 US Open Champion Michael Campbell’s Golf Academy in Marbella, Spain. We saw it as a great opportunity to train with his team and it opened our eyes to what progress we can make when we have a great team around us coupled with the work ethic and determination we both have.

We are extremely excited to say that Michael recognised these traits of ours and through his Academy has offered us the chance to train in Marbella with his team of top coaches. To be able to have the opportunity to realistically chase our dream we now have everything in place with the exception of funding. Some financial assistance at this critical time will be literally life changing.

To train and compete full time over the next two years will give us the chance to know if we are truly good enough to compete and beat the world’s best players. If we get this opportunity, at the end of the two years either way we will know the answer, however the biggest fear for us currently is never having the chance to truly know.

"Melissa and Abbey first came to my attention in 2015 when they both came to my golf academy in southern Spain to spend 5 days with me. My first impression of Melissa and Abbey was their determination, the ability to focus, wonderful work ethic and desire to succeed. Like most of us, we have dreams to fulfil, and I'm sure with the financial backing, those dreams will become reality for both." MICHAEL CAMPBELL (2005 US Open Champion - Pictured below)
