Aim

David Cameron and Theresa May pose a massive threat to our personal freedoms. Let's get them out the country (and raise money for the ORG).

Since the Paris terrorist attacks, David Cameron and Theresa May have used the tragic events to further their agenda of stripping away individual freedoms.

They propose outlawing encrypted forms of communication. This is scary for a few reasons:

  1. All your personal information is protected by this encryption. The same encryption that stops the government stealing your information also stops the Chinese, the Americans, fraudsters, Tom, Dick and Harry from stealing it too.
  2. Banking and shopping online securely neccessitates this encryption.
  3. Given the above, they clearly don't understand how the internet actually works. Why should we trust them with it?
  4. Since the Snowden leaks, we know GCHQ uses stolen personal information to manipulate people. This is not about terrorism or safety. This is about power.

Boing Boing have an excellent article that provides greater detail about why this is such an idiotic proposal.

Therefore, I propose buying them both a one-way ticket out of the country. They will wreck our civil liberties further if they stay. We can send them somewhere nice, like Malaysia. I don't care, I just want them gone.

And in the event that they won't take the tickets, which I suspect they won't (why would our elected officials do something we actually support?), I'll donate all the money to the Open Rights Group. They're a lovely bunch of chaps and chapettes who are trying to avoid a future where we can't even use our iTelepathy to think to each other without being spied on. Because that is the future we are destined for if we allow these people to take away our privacy in the name of "no place to hide."
