My name is Leah Rice. I am an 18 year old fashion student, currently based at Rare School Of Fashion in Liverpool, UK.
Why am I crowdfunding?
In April 2017, my college will be going on a trip to New York. The purpose of the trip is to gain a personal experience of what the fashion industry is like in the fashion capital by visiting some major fashion landmarks, including influential shops and cultural venues. The cost of the trip is £950. I have turned to crowdfunding because I will struggle to raise the funds myself being a full-time student. I come from an underprivileged family so I cannot turn to them for help either. I have realised that fundraising will be the only option for me to attend this once in a lifetime trip.
Since a young child I have always had an interest in fashion. As a child, when asked what i want to be when I grow up, I would always say 'I'm going to be a famous fashion designer'. I still respond with that answer to this day. I studied textiles at GCSE level along with an Art & Design BTEC. I have now went on to explore learning about fashion at college level and in the future I intend to continue studies at university or a work placement. My current college Rare School Of Fashion is a registered charity offering exceptional young people opportuinities they would not usually have access to.
How will the money be used?
Your kind donations will go towards the £950 cost of the trip. Included in the cost is direct flights to New York, 4 night's accomodation along with breakfast and evening meals.
