To restore this 1890's railway coach to a semi-royal / family soloon to work on the Telford Steam railway.
The intention is to provide access to the public, especially students in the local and surrounding area, what the better class of travel was in this period allowing them to experience the situation first hand rather than as an exhibit viewed from a distance.
The coach, once restored will allow disabled access and will allow families or groups to travel in an 1890's setting along the line. It is intended to provide full details on the coach, history of the type and general historical notes in the form of handouts for visitors.
The purchace price has already been raised so the coach is now preserved and the transportation costs to move the coach to Telford have already been secured, and the move will take place early in 2016. The next stage is to restore the outer frame, rebuild and refit the doors and windows and replace the entire outer skin.
