To raise team funding to row 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, in support of Care after Combat and Ickle Pickles Charities.
In December 2018, we will participate in the premier event in ocean rowing, by rowing the 3000 Nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean from SAN SEBASTIAN de La Gomera to NELSON’S DOCKYARD English Harbor Antigua,
As part of a two-man team (Team Second Chance) we will be challenged physically and mentally whilst rowing a constant, relentless shift-pattern of two hours on and two hours off, using our down time only to eat, make water, make repairs and attempt to catch up on well-deserved rest- in a boat not much bigger than a standard family car.
The atmosphere is electric as people help each other prepare for the challenge of the mighty Atlantic Ocean. All with the same Objective - to take on the unique experience of crossing an ocean in a rowing boat. the party atmosphere creates strong friendship and competitiveness gives way to camaraderie that will continue throughout the event.
Our research shows that to be in a position to complete the Challenge and support our chosen charities, the cost of race entry, safety equipment, mandatory courses and associated expenses are in the region of £100,000, which we are hoping to raise before the end of June 2018.
With your kindness, we are hoping to reach our total.
