New stretch target
£14,000 is the total cost of the trip for the athletes, we are trying to raise as much as possible towards this target.
Overfunding will help subsidise the team's trip to Morocco because the total cost of the trip may be in excess of £12000. Anything above this total will go towards the next international competition that Scotland will be sending a team which is the ISA World Juniors. There is also a WSL event running in Casablanca just before EuroSurf. We are encouraging our SCO team members to participate and any overfunding may be used to help subsidise their entry into this event for experience and practice for EuroSurf and to represent SCO at pro level.
40-50% of the proceeds from the Crowdfunder will also have to go back into the production of the team supporters kit so please bear in mind not all of the funds raised will help cover the teams expenses.
To help support our athletes represent Scotland at the ESF European Surfing Championships (EuroSurf) in Morocco on the 12th of Sept 2015

The Scottish Surfing Federation (Caidreachas Surfadh na h-Alba) are the governing body for the sport of surfing in Scotland and have been in existence for over 40 years. The Scottish National Surfing Championships is hosted by the SSF and acts as selection for the international Scottish teams. The SSF are a registered charity in Scotland (SC045821).
The ESF is the governing body for the sport in Europe. EuroSurf which is the European Surfing Championships attracts some of the worlds best surfers including 2013 champion Vincent Duvignac (FRA) and reigning longboard champion Ben Skinner (ENG).

At the moment our athletes will have to travel to Morocco self funded and it is extremely expensive to make the trip and cover all costs to fill Scotland's place on the European stage. Costs include air fares, surfboard charges, transportation, accomodation, membership fees and entry fees. The trip for the entire team may cost in excess of £14,000 but our surfers are so passionate about representing their country they will do their best to attend, but we need to raise as much money as possible to help subsidise the trip.
This will be the first time since the early 90's that a Scotland team has participated at the European Surfing Championships. However the team have made it to the ISA World Surfing Games for the last two years (pictured below) and the SSF intend to increase the amount of Scottish teams present at all international surfing comptitions in all categories of surfing. In 2014 the SSF sent a team to the ISA World Games 50th anniversary in Peru where Mark Boyd (SCO) made it through to round 2 of the main event, helping Scotland to a 16th overall place finish - one of the biggest success stories in Scottish surfing. More recently Scotland competed in another ISA World Games in 2015 this time in Nicaragua. The team hope to take this experience to the European stage in September and do Scotland proud.

For the team's last two international campaigns Staunch Industries, one of Scotland's only surf clothing brands have supported the team. This has included designing and making the Scotland team uniforms as shown in the images above and below. Supporters uniforms are available as Crowdfunder rewards on your left along with a range of other goodies which you can pledge on and help the team on their way to EuroSurf.
