Rhodri's Eggcellent Egg Company

Aim

To supply my local village, neighbours and holiday makers with free range "eggcellent eggs" which are laid by my chickens.

I am a farming-mad 10 year old boy who loves to keep busy with jobs, being outside with animals and machinery, building things,  mowing the lawn, helping in the garden and spending as much time as I can on the jumpseat of our neighbour's large tractors.  We already have some chickens which I look after (feed and water, making sure their house is clean, plenty of toys to play with and that they remain healthy.)   I also collect the eggs  and then sell them to family and friends who visit and also walk through our village knocking on doors, selling them.  

I want to try and look after more chickens but to do so we need to fence off part of our land and buy the right chicken coops for them,  At the moment they sleep in one of the stables and roam around the garden/fields and yard during the day - which is fine for 9 or so chickens but my mum and neighbours would not be happy about  50 hens scratching about!

I love looking after them and I like walking around the village too, selling my eggs.  At the moment my chickens only produce 8 or 9 eggs a day  and I never seem to have enough.  So I'd like to look after more chickens, produce more eggs and make sure everyone who wants some can have some. 

My plan would be to make two or three large paddocks for my chickens, put a proper  chicken coop in each area with plenty of space to scratch about.  The area needs fencing with chicken wire and I would need more accessories such as water and feed bowls.  I would also like to produce some Eggcellent Egg Company labels to put on my own egg boxes which will make my business look really good.

I could then start  an egg round every Saturday morning plus continue to set up shop from my mums car boot at school & at village events & parties.  I may even have enough to have a shop in the gateway and supply local shops!
