We're bringing the dark musical satire Reefer Madness to the Edinburgh Fringe 2016 and to do so we need your help!
Reefer Madness has never been performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and we are extremely excited and passionate about putting on its debut performance this summer!
The show is an adaptation of the 1936 cult classic film, narrating the life and downfall of young and naive high-schooler Jimmy Harper into the insanely hilarious and dark depths of marijuana in 1940s USA. Introducing highly colourful characters such as zombie students, a nymphomaniac, orgy dancers, Jesus-Christ himself as a rock star and a Goatman... Reefer Madness is a hilarious show attracting vast audiences of students and mature theatre-goers alike. The show is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seats and to make you cry out of laughter!
After having performed the work at the Bristol Fringe in 2013 at the Bierkeller, we will be performing it at The Space in Edinburgh, just off the Royal Mile, from 12th to 29th of August, for an 80-100 seated audience.
Impromptu Productions is a Bristol-based musical theatre amateur company, born in 2013 during the initial 2-night run of Reefer Madness at the Bierkeller Theatre. After this successful and sold-out premiere, we have worked on new musical writings, including 1983 - which debuted with a concert performance, a showcase festival in London and a 3-nights run in Bristol in 2014-2015.

Here comes the part where WE NEED YOU!
We have been kindly given a £2000 loan from the Bristol University student Music Theatre society, MTB and together with our past profits, this will give us a kickstart for funding the project. We've held a cabaret evening and we're also planning on organising several 'Impromptu' socials throughout April and May in order to raise funds!
Thank you to everyone who has donated to our campaigns and events so far, any further donation would be a huge, huge help and will help us to make this production the best it can possibly me!
This project successfully funded on 26th July 2016
