Aim

To visit and support trade union organisations in Kharkiv Ukraine and provide financial aid for humanitarean activity.

South and North Lanarkshire Unison local government branches have formed links with trade union organisations in Kharkiv since a visit there of retired member and Ukraine Solidarity Campaign Scotland activist Colin Turbett in April 2024. At the same time Lothian Health Branch have delivered large quantities of medical supplies to Ukraine. Now a small group of lead activists from these branches will visit Kharkiv in September with a view to reporting back on their experiences and findings as widely as possible in Scotland. To make the trip worthwhile for their hosts they are raising funds through Unison branches and members to provide financial support to organisations in Kharkiv.  We are calling on individuals and members of other trade unions who want to support workers's organisations in Ukraine to contribute to our crowdfunder.  A full report of where the money goes will be provided upon the delegation's return to Scotland.

The delegation is being organised by the three branches, in conjunction with Ukraine Solidarity Campaign Scotland, to which all three branches are affiliated.
