Aim

This crowdfunder is to cover the costs of printing a beautiful community-based anthology, inspired by William Blake. All other work is done.

T'Articulation is based in Portsmouth UK. It is a city known for low literacy, but we encourage a love of poetry and prose taking our work, via performance and workshops, out into the community. Most of our events are free so that they remain accessible to all. More than fifty writers and artists from varied backgrounds and experience have come together for this unfunded project, Night-Lines, in celebration of our five years of existence and more than fifty events. (We went online for Covid.)

1690473801_zoom_mono_media.jpgThe project itself takes inspiration from Blake's 48-line poem, Night, with each contributor allocated a line as their individual prompt. Some have written with Blake in mind, others with a more contemporary slant, and most have worked individually. The result is an eclectic and vibrant mix of poetry, prose and illustration. To honour Blake, his commitment to 'doing it for yourself', and the work of our contributors, it is our intention to make this a very special and beautiful book: cloth bound, with linen-wove pages -- something to be cherished by those whose work appears in it but also by those who will read it.1690472951_wordcloud_coloured.jpeg
No-one has been paid for their services for this project, or their work; we've done it all voluntarily over the course of two years for the love of the community. The crowdfunder seeks only the cost of the printing: our final stage. Once the book is in our hands, any monies gained from further sales will allow us to run more workshops including going into schools, growing literacy and literary value in this our city -- one-time home to Dickens, Conan Doyle, and Rudyard Kipling, among other literary greats.

We hope you will join us in our quest by making a contribution: a donation or pre-order, so we can bring the project to fruition.
