Aim
To match 60 people experiencing homelessness into stable jobs and safe homes to move off the Birmingham, London and Manchester streets.
From the 29th November 2022 we'll be sharing some great video content every day on Standing Tall's take on homelessness at the moment.
We know money's tight at the moment with the cost of living crisis but please give what you can to help us help 60 people to move away from the streets for good next year.
We're thrilled to be working with the Aviva Cost of Living Boost meaning if you £5, we'll get £10. If you give £10, we get £20.
Your donation will be put to good use as what we're doing is working. 80% of the people we help are still off the streets and in the same job one year later.
With your donation, we'll be matching 60 people experiencing homelessness into stable jobs and safe homes in Birmingham, London and Manchester next year.
A stable job and a safe home provides a realistic pathway away from the streets
Our stable jobs are real living wage permanent roles with our employment partners in construction, manufacturing, hospitality and retail.
At the same time, we match the people we help into safe accommodation with our Amici hosts so they're ready to get their own place after 6 months.
Steve’s Story
When M Lambe Construction offered Steve a job - it was the perfect match. Steve’s a skilled plasterer by trade - so being back on a building site was ideal for him.
Next we matched Steve, with Ben - one of our Amici Host’s in Birmingham. Renting Ben’s spare room gave Steve a safe base to go to and from work. And get a good night’s sleep!
Steve smashed it at Lambe Construction and got his official contract after 3 months. In his 6 months staying at Ben’s he saved for a rental deposit - and got the keys to his own place.
18 months on, Steve's thriving at Lambe, he’s got a safe roof over his head - and he’s happy in a new relationship.
Steve is now working his way towards a management role and hopes to support future Standing Tall hires.
