Support striking Wolt drivers. Funds help cover costs so they can survive, work, and resist exploitation.
"Wolt is an international food application. For one week, we organised and protested against the violation of our rights. We met the company. Everything was moving in our favour. They agreed to our demands:
Then they took a 10-minute break. When they returned, they had checked the app and saw 600 active riders. They withdrew their agreement and we refused the lollipop they were offering. Our strike is over, our fight will continue.
We make history, brothers and sisters, because before this strike in Cyprus, history did not go to this level with everyone like us. Media, trade union, local citizens, and strikers did not go to this level. With folded hands, thank you to all who supported us and strengthened our voice.

After a week on strike, many drivers are now behind on rent, food and basic needs. More urgently, some are behind on tuition fees, which puts them at risk of deportation.
At the same time, Wolt is demanding over €130 from more than 60+ drivers to restore their IDs. Without these accounts, they cannot work. Drivers are also still being removed from the platform in retaliation.
This fund is to help drivers survive: to eat, pay rent, keep their status, and continue organising. Actions to hold Wolt accountable are ongoing. We will keep you updated.

They are migrant workers. Asylum seekers and students trying to earn a living. They deliver food in all conditions, day and night. They are paid only for the delivery, not the return journey.
In Cyprus, drivers face regular racist attacks and theft. Their direct employers take 30+% of their income, while forcing them to cover social insurance, health contributions, fuel and vehicle costs. Overtime is unpaid. Agreements are ignored. At the same time, the platform Wolt continues to lower pay while living costs rise.
Last week, drivers said: enough. They launched a week-long strike across Limassol, Nicosia and Larnaca.

When bonuses and temporary pay increases failed to break the strike, violence followed. Strikers were beaten, threatened with weapons, and had their cars vandalised.
When drivers went to the police, they were told to go back to their countries. At protests, police used force, threatened arrests, and sided with company representatives.
At the Labour Office, officials showed little interest. Drivers were told to take their case to court. Meanwhile, pressure was placed on media to stop reporting. Driver accounts were deleted.

Despite violence, intimidation and loss of income, the strike held. Negotiations took place on 24 March. The company agreed, then then next day once pressure was off they reversed their position. The result is unclear. The direction is not. The drivers will continue to seek justice...

Wolt was founded in Finland and is headquartered there. Finns are proud of their country's reputation as fair and sustainable. As it notes on the Wolt website:
"Finland is a great country to live in.... We’re committed to being a fair and sustainable platform. We treat our courier partners with respect. We take pride in trying to increase earnings, introduce safety nets..."
The hypocrisy of Wolt and it's management is grotesque and a disgusting stain on Finland. Instead, let us show a real commitment to safety and fairness.
Wolt drivers, couriers and labour organisers from across the region - including Cyprus, Finland, Malta, Germany, UK, Spain and more - are mobilising internationally against transnational exploitation. We look forward to sharing more news soon. In the meantime...
