Seer Green Parish Council is crowdfunding to buy and plant a tree to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Those familiar with Seer Green may know that the word Jubilee appears a number of times around the village - The Jubilee Hall, Jubilee Walk, Jubilee Well.
To mark Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee in 2022 Seer Green Parish Council would like to plant at least one, but ideally two new trees, to join in with the Queen’s Green Canopy, a unique UK-wide tree planting initiative inviting people to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee."
Following the loss of the Ash trees on School Lane we would like to plant a lime tree in Green Meadow Park.
Our initial target is £2500 which includes the tree with a 25-30cm girth, materials, labour, machinery, fees, delivery, excavation, handling, planting & watering.
If we can raise enough money, as well as the new tree in Green Meadow, we would like to plant an additional tree on the left hand side of the recreation ground, to replace the Goat Willow which came down during storm Eunice.
Our Plant a Tree for the Jubilee project will only be able to happen if it is supported by donations from the village, and so this is why we have set up this crowd funder.
If you would like any further information please contact Liz Bates (Clerk to the Parish Council, [email protected]), Mandy Thomas (Chair of the Parish Council) or Councillor Janna Holder.
