Funds to purchase additional two backstroke start ledges for our new blocks for training and competition for all our swim club members.
We are a family friendly, community competitive swimming club who recently celebrated our 60th anniversary. We have members aged 7 through to 80 plus years and offer training in competitive swimming. The club is predominately run by a team of volunteers and with our limited resources achieves success at County, Regional and even National level.

After many years of saving and fundraising MMSC has recently purchased new staring blocks with back plates, these blocks will now allow the fitting of backstroke ledges for backstroke starts. This is a significant investment at over £500 each, we have already raised some funds, kindly donated, for two of the five needed but now look to secure funding for the additional three required to complete the set.
MMSC is a community, amateur swimming club that supports members to achieve their best at all levels and aims to promote lifelong swimming. We compete in team galas, Club Championships and open meets, providing opportunities for our members to achieve and learn valuable life skills in the process.
We have squads for juniors, youth/seniors and Masters with a dedicated team of volunteers including Coaches, officials, team managers, gala organisers and Committee to support operations.
What we lack in water time, we work hard to make up for in focused technique work and aim to promote multi sports for our our young swimmers. These backstroke ledges will help us in this with our goals for progression.

We are looking to raise an initial target of £500 to £1000 of the £1575 needed for the purchase one or two of the three backstroke ledges required. Each £525 raised will purchase 1 ledge and storage bag.

The purchase of the backstroke ledges will enable our members to practice and perfect their start technique for important galas where this equipment is used. As a small community club it will help our members compete at high level competitions with the larger clubs in the region and nationally.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
