Aim

Buy a plank. Help rebuild the Oakbank Community Inn's accessible decking.

Right now, there’s a gap where our decking used to be and we want to rebuild it - better than before. 

We need your help to rebuild and extend it, creating a safe, accessible outdoor space for our whole community - and a proper link down to the marina.

👉 You can be part of it by “buying a plank” and helping us build it from the ground up.

What your support will create:

• Rebuild the main decking
• Extend access around the side
• A safe, usable link to the marina 
• Make the Oakbank Community Inn more accessible for everyone

Why this matters:

This isn’t just replacing what was there - it’s creating something better.

• A safe and level outdoor space for people of all ages and abilities
• Improved access, including for those who currently struggle with uneven ground or steps
• A welcoming area for community events, gatherings and everyday connection

And importantly…

• A clear, usable link between the pub and the nearby marina, inconjunction with owners, Tingdene, making it easier for sailors and visitors to come ashore and be part of the community

This is about inclusion, connection and making Oakbank truly accessible to everyone - whether you arrive by foot, wheel, or boat ⚓

What we’re building:

• Rebuild the main decking area at the back of the pub
• Extend it around the side to improve accessibility and flow
• Create a safe, durable structure that will serve the community for years to come

This isn’t a temporary fix  - it’s a long-term investment in the space and the people who use it.
