Aim

We're starting a new workers' co-operative tattoo studio

If you’re planning to get a tattoo at any point in the next year, we would love for you to buy a voucher upfront through this crowdfunder to help us with our start-up costs. To thank you for your support, we’re selling these vouchers at a special discounted rate, available only for the duration of this crowdfunder. We also have prints, stickers, and shirts available!

Who we are

Cloud Mountain is a workers' co-operative of professional tattoo artists. Our founding members are Len and Spruce, two friends who are very excited to bring together their loves of tattooing, art, and organising.

Len is a machine artist who been tattooing for over 10 years, and Spruce has been tattooing for 2 years and works by both hand-poke and machine. They both love to draw their own flash and custom pieces and welcome a range of styles – no piece too big or too small. They are committed to building a safe and inclusive, high-quality tattoo studio in their home of Glasgow's southside. You can find their portfolios on Instagram at @elsavage_art and @spruce.tattoos

Cloud Mountain will be a fully mutual workers' co-operative. This means there is no boss, and instead we all have equal say and control over our own livelihoods. We believe co-ops build better conditions for workers and stronger communities, and we also think our work as artists will benefit. We are very excited to be adding our shop to a long history of co-operatives run by and for workers. To find out more, check out our friends at https://www.workers.coop/

Our collective is currently small, but once we build up the space we hope to bring in new artists as members.

What we're asking

With this crowdfunder, we're seeking extra start-up funds to help us pay the upfront costs of taking on our lovely new premises and setting it up to thrive. We welcome solidarity donations from individuals, other co-ops, etc, but we are mainly asking for your support in buying things in advance and sharing this crowdfunder far and wide! We're offering stickers, prints, hand-painted clothing, and tattoo vouchers which will be redeemable once the space opens and will be valid for a year from this date. Our official opening date is TBC, but we expect this to happen in May 2026.
