Aim
We offer an intensive 10 week course that transforms the lives of people with histories of drug or alcohol misuse, leading to happier lives
Foundation for Change is an independent charity set up in 2014. We bring about positive change with people who have experienced negative life events that have led to significant problems with drugs or alcohol.
We offer a range of accessible psychology courses that provide the building blocks, resources and tools that help people establish solid foundations on which to live happier and more meaningful lives. Our ethos is that if people learn to understand themselves and the reasons they misused drugs or alcohol, the more able they’ll be to take control of their lives and create the lives they want to lead. Happier lives and a happier society.
We believe that people are powerful and that change is entirely possible. People just need to be given a chance, and have the tools, knowledge and emotional resources to make it happen.

We need your help
Increasing cuts to local authority budgets mean that our traditional source of funding no longer exists. We are taking radical steps to raise money and ensure people continue to benefit from our courses . Your donation will help pay for a group of 8 people like John, who want to change their lives for the better.
Your money will help fund:
- 8 people from disadvantaged backgrounds to go on to our flagship programme, the NEXT Project
- Each person receives:
- 20 full days of training over 10 weeks
- A recognised qualification awarded through the Open College Network
- A six month volunteer placement to build confidence and experience
- All travel expenses paid for
