LET'S START A LIVE ART REVOLUTION IN WYMONDHAM.

LIVE Art in Wymondham: I am looking to raise £2,000 to aid in launching a live art event in Wymondham on the 27th August 2016.

This will be the first Live Art event to take place in Wymondham. The event will be organised by me and facilitated collectively between myself and the artists involved. This event will also be the first of its kind for me as an artist and will prove to be an encouraging start to what I hope to be an annual event, taking place across different rural communities in Norfolk.

 Who am I?

My name is Vivian Chinasa Ezugha, I am an artist living in Norwich and working in Wymondham. I specialise in Live art and I am interested in the relationship between artists and their communities. I graduated from Aberyswtyth School of Art in 2014 and since graduating I have worked for the Welsh Government and am currently working for Creative Arts East; an arts and community charity in Norfolk.  I started working with Creative Arts East in August 2015 and since then, I have come to understand and see the challenges and opportunities embedded in rural communities. I am passionate about the arts (Live Art especially) and I believe that our roles as artists is to challenge, excite, change, renew and encourage creative activities in society. Wymondham is an attractive, historic town in Norfolk, bursting with history and elegance. Working in Wymondham and moving between different community hubs in Norfolk, I have come to value the importance of the arts in educating, encouraging and inspiring communities that are often hard to reach to see new heights in their growth; as well as see the value of their communities within the bigger framework of culture in the UK.

LIVE Art in Wymondham is about opening up a new window of opportunity for a new kind of experience for the community in Wymondham. LIVE Art in Wymondham is about bringing work that is often in isolation of specific forums to a space where such activities might never be seen.

 WHY I NEED YOUR HELP.

I am an artist with a zeal for people and the experiences of the everyday person. I truly believe in the power of art in connecting us together and giving us tools that enable us to speak against fascism and austerity. Live Art in Wymondham is about sharing and encouraging residents to come together in a positive way and participate and celebrate culture in their town.

Being a historic market town, Wymondham has many great features; however diversity is  one of those features that need to be encouraged  here. Nevertheless, I have seen, I have spoken to and I have connected with many people in this town and the beauty of Wymondham is in the stories of the people who live here. I value the town and I value its people, this is why I want to share my passion with Wymondham. My mission is to bring something new, fresh and challenge the people of Wymondham to hopefully see their town square in a new way.

I am not an organisation; I am just an individual with a love for Live Art. I work but I don’t earn enough to be able to fund this by myself; this is why I am asking for your help and support to challenge, entertain and START A LIVE ART REVOLUTION IN WYMONDHAM.

 Your Support

Your support will help pay for artist’s fees, accommodation, food (evening meal) and other expenses such as a photographer to document the event and marketing to promote the event. It will enable the artists to come and experience Wymondham and share their experiences and practice with the town. The event is non-ticketed so in order to keep the costs low, I will be seeking in kind support from local business in the town in providing refreshments; lunches and changing facilities for artists.

Please support this project if you can, I am really grateful for your time and generosity.

 Thank you,

Vivian
