Thank you so much for your support so far and the generous donations made via other sources. We are getting there, but to make Buxton REALLY light up for Christmas we need more ! Please tell your friends, family, colleagues. Are there any businesses that would like to sponsor a tree? Get in touch! We have extended the deadline to 13th November.
LET'S GET BUXTON BUZZING!

Buxton is a beautiful town with a fantastic community spirit and a friendly welcome that we believe our Christmas tree lights should reflect.  We aim to replace the white lights which can look dismal on a gloomy winter day (see the picture below) with colourful, long lasting bulbs to make the street trees look great in the daytime as well as at night. No more red bows! We’ll then string the existing white lights through the trees on The Slopes and other places where they will show up better.

The Council are helping by providing a new power supply on The Slopes, as well as providing the six trees, and will look after the new coloured lights – when we’ve raised enough money to buy them!  The new lights are guaranteed for five years with an expected life of at least ten.  We are definitely investing in the future!

Buxton WI led the way by raising an awesome £1500 last year through coffee mornings, cakes and jam. An amazing feat!  Buxton Town Team & Buxton Sparkles have joined with the WI to keep the ball rolling. We are encouraging businesses, large and small, to join us too. If we all work together we will achieve our goal and make Buxton much brighter.  The go to place for Christmas!

Time is short but we believe that this CAN be done and, if you do too, please make a pledge. Your generosity will help to create a truly community-fuelled festive season for Buxton in 2018 and beyond!
