Aim

To part-fund a Perception Neuron motion capture kit for an arts project collaborating with young people.

As a creative team Julia McGhee (dance artist) and Geoff Robbins (self-confessed geek) want to work together on a project using new motion capture equipment called Perception Neuron to map the physicality and movement qualities of young people who have additional support needs. Over the last year, Julia has collaborated with several young people in Easter Ross on a project called Interactive Experiments. The project has been driven by a desire to investigate the potential of these young people to create performance.  Julia and Geoff believe they have a great idea of how to further this using Perception Neuron.

Their vision is to give young people the opportunity to take creative control over their own dance avatars and the design of the stage/environment where they perform.  As an artist-technician creative team, they want to gain expert knowledge and uncover the possibilities of this cutting edge digital equipment that is currently being used by very few artists in the field of dance in the UK.

This Crowdfunder campaign is to support the purchase of a Perception Neuron Kit -  which may sound expensive at £1500 but is a drop in the ocean compared to the hundreds of thousands needed to build a motion capture studio.  Perception Neuron has the potential to create similar results.

This project successfully funded on 24th June 2018
