Why You Should Help!
The Urban Beach has become a fantastic part of the Feva festival, held in Knaresborough every August. When the sun is shining it plays host to hundreds of children and parents every day! In the past it has been funded by the FEVA committee but this year we need your help! The atmosphere is magical with live music, face painting and other arts and crafts going on. It is valued by the local community and tourists alike and it would be fantatsic to offer it to the people of Knaresborough and surrounding communities once again in 2017.
“We loved the urban beach. What a fab community event.” – Lucy, beach visitor, 2016
"Feva and the urban beach are a complete asset to Knaresborough. Totally loved it this year, once again" - Rachel, beach visitor, 2016
As well as providing a holiday hub for the community, the urban beach also allows the Henshaws Arts and Crafts centre to generate much needed income so by supporting this project you are giving both to the local community and supporting a local charity.
Henshaws charity supports people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities to achieve their ambitions and to go beyond expectations.. At Henshaws Arts & Crafts we make more than art. We bring people together in an atmosphere that never fails to inspire. Open to all, our Arts & Crafts Centre is a community hub where creativity, friendships and opportunities come to life. Through our workshops, people living with a range of disabilities discover their talents, put them into practice and realise their full potential.
£2,500 will help us to cover the cost of the sand for the urban beach and the machinery/ equipment for putting it into place. As a thank you for a donation, we've come up with some amazing rewards. such as our custom thank you cards and artwork which will all be handmade by our very own Henshaws Art Makers! Rewards will not be sent out/ be available for collection until after the campaign has ended. Please see the individual rewards for more details.
Thank you for supporting our urban beach campaign. We hope to see you there in August!
