Do you want to see a London that is more liveable, affordable and sustainable?
Those are the policies that the Wolmar for London campaign has been working on for the past two years since Christian Wolmar announced his bid to be the Labour party candidate for the 2016 London mayoral election.
London is at risk of becoming a city for the few rather than the many – a city that only the privileged can enjoy, a city where too many people live in cramped and miserable accommodation, a city blighted by poor air and a lack of quality public space.
We think London is in danger of losing a lot of what makes it so special.
Clean air, affordable fares, accessible housing, better facilities for cyclists and pedestrians – these are all basic rights that Londoners should enjoy but which the current mayor has failed to provide.
The campaign is now reaching a crucial stage and needs funding to organise a series of events and pay for publicity material. Christian is up against well-funded Labour fulltimers and has so far largely paid for the campaign out of his own limited funds.
We need £3,000 to pay for promotional leaflets, the Labour party charge for candidates and a planned bus ride to promote the campaign.
