The Founded in Scotland initiative is a vibrant non-profit startup platform, showcasing Scotland's most innovative startups and promoting our lively startup scene. Startups gain worldwide exposure, and access to a thriving startup community with over 1,600 members. Through a global startup network called Founded X, of which we are part, startups have unique opportunities to form valuable S2S (Startup2Startup) relations in Scotland and worldwide.
Launched in September 2015, the Founded in Scotland initiative aims to highlight innovative startups with Scottish roots and showcase the nation’s latest entrepreneurial ventures. We wish to inspire the people of Scotland to see what’s possible so the innovative culture continues to the next generation and beyond, and honour the Scottish entrepreneurs who have pursued their own ventures.
Scotland has a rich history of innovation, and it’s fair to say Scotland has produced more than its fair share of innovators over the years. A surge of recent successful entrepreneurial endeavours has made the region one of the hottest tech startup hubs; a centre at the forefront of cutting-edge technological innovation and design. More and more people are choosing entrepreneurship instead of traditional employment. Some Scottish entrepreneurs have achieved success on an international scale, and Scotland is quickly becoming a world-renowned startup hub.
As every entrepreneur and startup founder knows, each project presents unique challenges, and that is what the Founded in Scotland initiative faces right now as we develop and promote the Founded in Scotland initiative. The project has been funded by the project curator so far, but to continue and progress the project to the next stage requires funding.
We're offering some exclusive Founded in Scotland memorabilia in return for your financial support. This will allow the initiative to continue publishing, promoting Scotland's startups and our vibrant startup ecosystem. Thanks to everyone who offers their support.
