Aim

A products based business run by students, aiming to raise the standards of the drinks market by creating a healthy, caffeinated juice drink

WHAT IS FOCUS DRINKS?

We are a product based business aiming to tackle a gap in the market, by making an 'all inclusive' juice drink, fortified with multivitamins for maintainence of wellbeing, and also the natural components of tea and coffee for mental and physical performance, similar to energy drinks but without the negative 'unhealthy' stigma associated with them. Our drink comes in 4 tasty flavours that we've left you guys to choose! Our drink 'focus' is marketed based on its health benefits and performance enhancement, and aims to target students, working professionals and athletes, and will be concentrating our market research to these areas. The logo is Focus written with gradient colours infront of a gradient dark blue peak, of which subliminally back the precision or 'focus' effect of drinking the juice drink. The gradient colour is a chalky dark blue, which reflects of a 'healthy/natural' drink as oppose to bold colours used in brands such as Red Bull or Monster.

WHAT WE PLAN TO DO WITH THE MONEY:

The aim is £5000, so keeping it snappy, the money will be divided into 4 main areas of pre business start-up.

£1000 will pay for extensive market research, conducted across the country at different university campuses and offices, and will cover printing costs, informational costs, travel costs, stall set-up costs and most importantly, the production of sample bottles to understand if our brand most appeals to our target market. The market research is also crucial for getting relevant figures and understanding if this product is profitable enough - or has a high enough demand for it to be marketed, and hence making appropriate changes. Along with this, desk research will also be conducted to compile information of Focus' direct competitors, local businesses ventures and our target market buying habits at no cost.

£2000 would be used to incorporate our business into a Private Limited Company, the reason for this legal structure, being that we are a product based business and would rely heavily on other businesses as a platform for selling our product. Big businesses much rather do business with Limited Companies, and this legal structure also builds consumer confidence of Focus, as a business that has time and money invested into it.

£1500 would finally be spent on advertising, graphic design, a website and merchandise. T-Shirts, keychains, hats and posters will be used in various locations to raise awareness of Focus around university campuses and to promote Focus as a brand that associates with students, athletes and working professionals by handing out leaflets personally and reaching students. Graphic design and website would require a professional, which our budget at Focus would be £1000 for. Our logo, website and flyers would need to look sharp in order to bring the full potential out of this business, along with a strong social media content to give our target market something to be excited about.

The final £500 is our overflow money, and will be used after the start-up phase.

This £5000 should therefore be enough money to complete the pre-startup of Focus and give us the tools and information necessary to begin trading at Focus.
