We need to fund 10 billboards in London to urge MPs to support the Assisted Dying Bill when it's debated in Parliament on Fri 11 September.

They did it!

You did it! We've been blown away by how quickly we've raised £20,000. This campaign is all about showing MPs the strength of public support for assisted dying, so thank you to everyone chipping in to raise enough fund to buy 10 Billboards.

But it doesn't stop here. The more people who back this campaign, the more billboards we can fund. We've set a new target of £30,000 - let's see how far we can go!When Bob Cole chose to go to Dignitas, he bravely spoke out about assisted dying because he wanted the law to change. Bob had a message for MPs and the public he wanted to be heard: “I should be able to die with dignity in my own country, in my own bed. The law needs to change. How do you change the law? People have got to take a stand”

We are creating this new Billboard because we want to make sure as many people as possible hear Bob’s message and put pressure on MPs to fix our broken law.We want to put this billboard up near Lambeth Bridge, close to Westminster, and send a powerful message ahead of the 11 September debate in the Houses of Parliament. Let's fix our broken assisted dying law for Bob.

For the first time in 20 years, on Friday 11 September, our MPs will vote on an Assisted Dying Bill which could, if enacted, give dying people choice and control over their death. With Sir Patrick Stewart's help, we want to create a high-impact outdoor advertising campaign in the lead up to the debate in Parliament, by crowdfunding 10 large billboards in Central London. We must show our representatives in Parliament that we want them to take action to change the law.The case for change is clear – dying people should not be forced to suffer against their wishes or abandoned to take drastic measures behind closed doors.

But we cannot achieve change without your help. We want the public to send a powerful message to MPs that they support law-change on assisted dying by crowdfunding this next stage in the campaign.

82% of the public support law change on assisted dying. On Friday 11 September, we want MPs to join them and vote in support of the Assisted Dying Bill.

Our aim is to crowdfund at least 10 large billboard posters in key locations across Central London from Monday 7 September, for two weeks.

That would give us a week in the lead up to the debate in Parliament on Friday 11 September to put pressure on our MPs. We have pre-selected the sites we want to target, and have our designs ready. All we need now is your backing to make this happen.

An Assisted Dying Bill has not been voted on by MPs for 20 years - this is a once in a generation opportunity to show our elected representatives that the overwhelming majority want law-change on assisted dying.

The current law is a mess - Britons are being assisted to die by travelling abroad to Dignitas, at a rate of one a fortnight. For every person that makes that journey, another 10 dying people take their own lives at home. That's 348 suicides by terminally ill people each year. Many die in undignified and desperate ways, often alone. This cannot go on. Now is our chance to show MPs that it is Parliament's responsibility to fix our broken law.We are a national campaign and membership organisation campaigning to legalise assisted dying, within upfront safeguards, for terminally ill, mentally competent adults. We believe that everyone has the right to a dignified death. This means:

Choice over where we die, who is present and our treatment options.• Access to expert information on our options, good quality end-of-life care, and support for loved ones and carers.• Control over how we die, our symptoms and pain relief, and planning our own death.
