Aim

This is a unique opportunity to support and recieve limited edition original artworks by 3 contemporary artists.

Common Ground is a collaborative project between 3 international artists,  Greg Fuller, Jason Hicklin and Tracy Hill.

During 2016 the artists will explore different locations within the Mersey Esturary examining the unique landscape as experienced on foot.  The artists will investigate how physical and industrial histories of the Estuary link with the Hunter Estuary NSW Australia but how approaches to navigation and walking remain culturally unique.

Walking journeys will inform the artists research where they will explore public rights of way and permissive footpaths examining issues of land ownership and restrictions of access.  They will discuss the physical and political implications of western cartographic approaches compared to a more sensory navigational approach as excercised by traditional haptic navigators in southern hemisphere countries.

Research undertaken at both estuary sites will inform the development of new work by each of the 3 artists.  This work will be exhibited at multiple venues across the UK and in Australia as well as being documented on a project blog. www.commongroundalongtheway.tumblr.com

At the end of 2016 the artists have been invited to join an artist residency programme at The Lock up in NSW where they will continue to develop their work exploring the traditions of haptic navigation.

Your contributions and support for the project will allow the artists to fully complete their project and allow the creation and documentation of the complete body of research and new artworks.

To show our appreciation of your support each artist will produce a limited edition of original prints which will only available as rewards for contributors pledging £50 or more to the project.  The print size will be 15cm x 15cm and the edition will be strickly 25 prints per artist.

This is a unique opportunity to support and collect original artworks by 3 contemporary artists.

Thank you for your time and your support.
