New stretch target

Reaching our stretched target will allow us to create a fantastic fireshow as well as firework display for our entire city to enjoy. Burning the Clocks is a wonderful way to celebrate the festive season with friends and loved ones and we would like to make it as memorable as possible.

Burning the Clocks needs your help once more! Help us ignite Brighton with an outpouring of passion, fun and fireworks to wish goodbye to the old year and usher in the new in a unique celebration of community and togetherness!

Every year on 21st December, the winter solstice, we produce this much-loved free event in Brighton. Burning the Clocks combines a beautiful lantern procession through the streets of Brighton, with a spectacular fire and fireworks show, bringing the whole city together to celebrate.

Arts funding has become increasinly difficult to secure and with this in mind we decided to start crowdfunding in order to support the event each year . Whilst Same Sky is recognised by Brighton & Hove Council for the contribution we make to the city and they are kind enough to help us with core costs, Burning the Clocks receives no guaranteed funding and so we rely on crowd funding and the support of local business to make sure Burning the Clocks can go ahead each year.
Burning the Clocks was created in 1993 as an antidote to the excesses of the commercial Christmas and as a way to celebrate the festive season regardless of faith or creed. It brings people together from all ages and walks of life to celebrate our fantastically uniqiue city and to share the things that bind us all.

Around 20,000 people now come to watch Burning the Clocks each year, which is free for spectators.  2,000 people join us and take part in the lantern parade each year and there are plently of ways to get involved with this uniquely Brighton celebration.  Purchasing one of our packages not only allows you to be at the heart of this unforgettable event but also helps to make sure Burning the Clocks can return next year!
