New stretch target
Additional funding will mean that we do not need to seek any contributions from the athletes the closer we get to the overfunding target the more likely this is to happen. The further along we are it may also mean that our chaperones, physios and team management will make reduced contributions.
We are the top junior ladies athletics team in the country. Your help in funding this trip will ensure that we can send our strongest team, free of any financial constraints.
We are looking for your financial support to help send the Blackheath and Bromley Harriers AC junior ladies team to Istanbul, Turkey in September to represent Great Britain in the European Champion Clubs Cup (ECCCj). The Club has a very strong tradition of representing Great Britain in this competition and your help in funding the trip will ensure that we can send our strongest team, free of any financial constraints.
The cost of the three night trip is a significant outlay for the Club, the burden of being so successful. The squad of up to 22 members, aged 16yrs – 19yrs, require flights, transport, accommodation and kit.
Our junior ladies team qualified to represent Great Britain by being the highest scoring athletics team in the country. The team heading to Istanbul at the end of the summer can boast two current GB juniors in Shannon and Cherice Hylton and previous squads included a number of equally talent GB youth and junior athletes such as Lorraine Ugen, Shaunagh Brown, Serita Solomon and Dina Asher-Smith. Some of these ladies have gone on to take medals at senior international level.
The competition will be hosted by last years’ competition winners Fenerbahce Sports Club hence the trip to Istanbul and while our Club and the athlete’s parents will provide some financial support, the costs are eye watering.
- Flights £6,600
- Accommodation £1,980
- Transport £300
- Team Kit £1,470
Raising as much as we can via donations will ease the financial burden on the Club and more importantly ensure that every selected athlete can compete and not worry about whether they can afford to travel.
It would be great to raise the entire £10,350 for flights, accommodation, transport and kit and we hope to raise at least £6,000 of that with your help.
We’ve got some great thank you rewards to make donations a little bit more special. Equally important is that you help to spread the word.
