Zero 2030 - A climate transformation event
We did it
On 29th January 2020 we successfully raised £773 with 21 supporters in 56 days

A large-scale conference and event to mobilise our communities across Adur and Worthing, and create action to achieve zero carbon by 2030.

by Michelle Furtado in Worthing, England, United Kingdom

Worthing Climate Action Network and Transition Town Worthing are raising money to put on an inspirational climate conference in Adur & Worthing to bring everyone together to shape the local response to climate emergency.

Zero 2030 - the community led Adur & Worthing Climate Conference

The funding will contribute to the event costs which will include: speakers fees (if any); venue hire; security; audio visual hire; catering; and event materials.

If we reach our target, any additional funding will be used for follow up events, projects and programmes run by Worthing Climate Action Network and Transition Town Worthing.

The event has been coordinated through many voluntary hours put in by Worthing Climate Action Network and Transition Town Worthing working with Adur & Worthing Councils. As volunteers, we appreciate any help we get from supporters.

About the event:

Zero 2030 - the community led Adur & Worthing Climate Conference

  • Wednesday 4th March 2020 9:00-5:00
  • Worthing Assembly Hall, Stoke Abbott Road, Worthing BN11 1HQ

The conference welcomes everyone to come and help create a cleaner, greener, more sustainable, resilient and connected Adur and Worthing.

Join us for a day of insight, inspiration, motivation, activity and involvement - a springboard to working more closely with each other on the climate challenge.

Adur & Worthing Councils declared a climate emergency in July 2019. They have committed to work towards being carbon neutral by 2030. What steps are now needed from us all to extend this action across our whole area?

The event will feature an inspirational range of speakers in the morning and motivational facilitators in the afternoon at participatory workshops. Everyone is invited to input ideas and actions to generate shared solutions to climate change.

Coordinated jointly by Worthing Climate Action Network, Transition Town Worthing and Adur & Worthing Councils, the event also benefits from the support and input of a wealth of local projects, organisations and businesses.
