Worthing Climate Action Network, Transition Town Worthing and Adur & Worthing Councils, with representatives from community projects across our area, welcome everyone to come together and generate action on climate change. Join us for a day of speakers, participatory spaces, a community marketplace and a evening of networking.
We will not just be talking about climate change, we will generate ideas, projects and partnerships to take forward. Our aim is to build a framework for transformative action - action to massively reduce carbon emissions. We know we cannot achieve everything, but as a community we can lead our own actions and create a cleaner, greener, more resilient and connected Adur and Worthing.
We are very happy to confirm our first speaker, Isabella Tree from the Knepp Estate, who will talk about rewilding and its benefits. The participatory spaces will cover several key themes - transport, waste, energy and carbon reduction, ecology, water, community resilience, ethos/spirit, food systems, economics and business.
We are raising money to pay for the venue, cover a vegetarian lunch for everyone, speakers fees (if any) and materials for the transformation spaces. Any funding received will go directly to cover these costs. If we reach our target and then achieve additional funding, we will use this for follow events, meetings and mobilising projects and programmes. As volunteers, we appreciate any help we get from supporters.
Our day is still developing and we welcome input as it takes shapes - please get in touch with us.
