We are hoping to raise money to buy a bus to make into a Youth Zone Bus. The bus will go out to the young people where they are hanging out.

EDGE NE CIC is a newly developed youth mentoring Community Interest Company. We deliver youth mentoring to young people who are involved with or at risk of Serious Youth Violence or Child Exploitation including County Lines. Whilst delivering this mentoring work these young people, who are carrying  weapons and taking and dealing drugs, have informed us that there us that there is not enough youth provision in the areas they live to prevent them from becoming involved in Serious Youth Violence and criminal activity. The provisions that are available do not meet their needs and wants or are inaccessible for them. These young people have told us what would help them and give them goals and aspirations. We are hoping to raise money to buy a bus to make into a Youth Zone Bus. The bus will go out to the young people where they are hanging out, in the areas that fall under the Northumbria Police area in the North East of England. It will give them activities such as music and sports. It will provide them with sexual health advice, training on serious youth violence and child exploitation. It will provide education and training advice. We will be engaging with Young People who are carrying weapons and trying to change this behaviour. This will be a safe space where these young people can engage with people who will support them and help them make positive changes and choices on their lives. Help them awaken their aspirations and goals. This will ultimately help the community by giving young people a place to go and not be causing anti social behaviour on the streets. It will encourage young people to not carry weapons for the time they are with the bus and not be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. It will help develop positive relationships between the young people, police and community. It will listen to young people and advocate on their behalf, and give them a voice.
