About Me:
Hi My Name is Keiran i am a 15 years old and I have always had an interest in music .For the last 2 years I have studied and really enjoyed Music Technology. In February last year I was given the opportunity to get involved with a local community radio station. Through this I have developed skills and grown in confidence. I feel I have found my calling. Initially I was presenting for 1 hour per week, however I now work with Crystal FM hosting 'Travel Time' on a Wednesday. 'Teen Hits' on a Saturday. I'm also presenter of 'The Friday Night Project' on Black Diamond FM. As well as presenting I've organised a fundraising event. All aspects from securing a venue, finding performers and sponsors. I've also been involved in several outside broadcasts and interviews including local Galladay's and the opening of the Borders Railway. I thrive on learning new skills and applying them.
About the Project:
My aim is to have the internet radio station up and running by the summer and for it to be a place where young people can access so that they too can develop their skills and interests. It will also act as a sound board for youth news and issues and promote all youth orgainisations. It also opens up many doors for young people in to the brodcasting industriesl. The music focus will be current chart hits. As I build up a listener base they will hopefully influence the music I play. It would be great to have the station as interactive as possible.
What would this project look or sound like?
The internet station's focus will be on young people, and Topical issues and current chart music. The aim is to have it sounding fresh and upbeat and something that young people feel; they can get involved in. I would like to also showcase any young musicians or artists or bands through this. Afterall it’s the internet and you never know who may be discovered next.... But before i can do any of this i have to raise the money to pay for the licences and any other equitment we may need i already have most of the equitment but will need some more and also have to buy licences and a sever etc. So if you could please donate as it would mean alot and it will help the youth orgainisations as well as young people.
