Your Voice, Cornwall needs a home. We want to establish a Wellness Hub to facilitate the services and resources we offer.

by Your Voice, Cornwall in Truro, England, United Kingdom

Your Voice, Cornwall was founded in 2019 by Natasha who recognised the need for more support and resources for those affected by Mental Health, including:

- Women’s Support Groups - The support groups enable women to meet up, in various locations around Cornwall, and enjoy time with other women who are experiencing Mental Health issues. The groups offer a very informal, relaxed and confidential environment, with refreshments provided and an opportunity to discuss the individuals issues as well as listen. Nobody is obligated to talk. Many members prefer to just listen at first. The group is hosted by a facilitator who may or may not have formal Mental Health experience m/qualifications. They are there to mediate the session and offer personal support - not offer a counselling service or offer any medical/professional advice.

The first group took place in Helston back in ‘19 and has been going from strength to strength since. We have also launched a group in Falmouth & next on the list is Hayle, Truro and groupfurther towards North Cornwall.
Our Helston group regularly feeds back that the group is a huge support to their Mental Health and it’s vital that we reach more women across Cornwall.

We receive approx 5-10 messages/comments a week asking us if we are going to be holding new locations as there are women all over cornwall who are keen to attend.

The groups are held in coffee shops and we pay for the refreshments.

 - Social Activities

We are also planning social activities  to encourage wellbeing and social skills. These include Golfing range days, sea-swimming sessions with an established, local group, Zumba group, days out in various locations, and other social events. All which need funding.

-  Funded access to fitness/nutritional support.

The benefits of exercise and healthy eating are widely recognised and we aim to support those who wish to include these in helping to manage their Mental Health.

Our long term is to establish our very own Wellness Hub/Centre that is able to offer all these resources, and more, under one roof.
