For children aged 4-12 across Kent, to enter the Cancer Research UK art competition and exhibition on 'Something You Love' for just £2

by Young Art Kent 2019 in Canterbury, England, United Kingdom

New stretch target

Cancer Research UK receives no government funding for research and has to turn down around £100m worth of research every year, due to a lack of funding. All contributions are invaluable and down to the generosity of everyone involved.

Make Kent the 3rd county to take part in the Cancer Research UK Young Art competition this May

Every 2 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with 1 of 2000 types of cancer. And so our '2 for the fight' campaign asks for just £2 from you to enter the competition so that life saving research at Cancer Research UK can continue and say that "3 in 4 people will beat their diagnosis in the next 16 years".

Young Art Kent is giving children the opportunity to show and develop their artistic talents, be in a public exhibition at Kent university, and to meet locally famous Kent artists- all whilst raising much-needed funds for Cancer Research UK.

Importantly... Kent will be the 3rd UK county to participate in Young Art after huge success's elsewhere in Cornwall and London and we want to be just as successful year after year! We need your participation to launch this annual event starting now.

We’re inviting primary school and year 7 children from all over Kent to enter their artwork into a competition where their creations will be displayed at the Gulbenkian Theatre on 17th-19th May 2019.

All the children’s artwork will be judged by a panel of local artists with the winning 3 entries in two age categories receiving a special prize.

The children and their families will be invited to a Launch night on Friday 17th May where they will proudly see their work displayed (not necessarily on the walls as this will be dependent on space). Selected artworks will be entered into a silent auction with winners announced on Sunday 19th May.

Children can enter their artwork about ‘Something You Love’ for a small donation of £2. Family members can then buy the work for a minimum donation of £3.

"I want to take part!"

Great! Everything is on our Young Art Facebook page including the registration form and rules.  1550239523_Poster.jpg

"It gets better!"

Yes! This is why we are crowdfunding... donations are vital because there is no government funding for the research. Cancer Research UK has to turn down around £100m worth of research every year, due to a lack of funding.

For every £2, we will email you personally with your 'entry ticket' and the registration form- then all you need to do is post/drop off your art work to enter

For every £5, we will do the above AND guarantee a place in the exhibition for your work

AND for every donation over £6, you can enter the competition twice with one entry guaranteed to be in the exhibition

A huge thank you for supporting Cancer Research UK and we look forward to seeing your entries!
