Young Adult Carers, aged between 18 and 25 years old, have often been caring throughout childhood and continue to care for a family member into adulthood. The caring role, often for a parent or sibling, can impact negatively on a young person's life chances - especially within the education system, as well as when making decisions about higher education, or employment choices. There is a significant impact, too, on many Young Adult Carers' social life, leading to isolation at a young age. At Camden Carers we are looking for funding to support YACs further, with individual and group support, as well as social opportunities. In order to do this, we need funding for a range of outings and activities for YACs to enjoy together. The funding raised would enable us to do this.
