To raise funds to enable york sharks to deliver wheelchair basketball sessions to participants of all abilities and ages. This includes training , games, fun days and more.
We pride ourselves on being a fully inclusive club offering participants a fun activity they they can take part in whether able-bodied or disbabled, young person or adult in a safe friendly environment. Complete beginners are always welcome and can learn new skills. Our club is a great place to socialise and relax while taking part in a sport.
Our fully inclusive open door policy allows for participation from the whole community.
Sport has proven physical and mental health benefits and our sport opens up the opportunity to gain these benefits regardless of ability/disability.
To enable us to deliver these sessions to all, we need to raise the costs of running these projects, so we are asking for your support and donations to enable us to continue making a difference to the lives of our participants.
To many of our participants wheelchair basketball is much more than just a sport. It’s a place they can be part of a team, socialise, make friends, enjoy themselves, relax, gain confidence, find peer support and so much more, but we need your help to keep these activities running.
We have over 30 existing participants and always welcome new members but without your support our participants would no longer have wheelchair basketball to rely on for fun and support etc so please dontate to our cause.
Our £10,000 target would enable us to run projects for a year.
