Hello, my name is Amie and I'm a qualified children's yoga teacher. Here is how it started... I spent time travelling India and South East Asia exploring mindfulness and yoga for my own well-being. Having spent time with many children who practice this regularly on my travels, I quickly learnt that there was a huge need for children in the UK to be introduced to this way of living. I came home, completed my teacher training and now successfully teach in three schools as part of the curriculum and as before and after school clubs. Having seen the results, I am truly passionate about implementing yoga and mindfulness in our children’s culture on a larger scale. As my classes are expanding I require a little financial support in order to provide children with yoga mats and various props that are necessary when teaching children these techniques to ensure the teachings are digestible to children from ages 3-11. In a world where children’s mental health and wellbeing becomes an increasing concern, introducing yoga and mindfulness to our children is proving to be beneficial not only to their daily life, but also learning techniques they can carry throughout their life to deal with the pressures and challenges in today's society as they grow into adults. Yoga presented in a child’s language obtains enormous benefits. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Teaching mindfulness and compassion to our children creates better impulse control, attunement with others and brings that inner light that all children have to the surface. I have a clear vision that our world should be filled with respect, compassion and peace. I believe that introducing these teachings at an early age will create all round better humans. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
