We need your help!
On 23rd and 24th March, 7x ordinary people, members of Extinction Rebellion, are on trial charged with Criminal Damage.
We peacefully occupied a road in central London, demanding action from the government on the ILLEGAL and TOXIC levels of air pollution we are all forced to live with.
25 Londoners die every single day from air pollution.
Air pollution is the 4th biggest killer globally.
Vulnerable communities suffer the worst; children in Tower Hamlets have on average 10% smaller lung capacity.
The levels of toxic air in the UK have been shown by international courts to be illegal.
On a cold December morning, we glued 25 bricks to the road and then glued our hands to the bricks. In those brief hours before we were arrested, the people walking down Cranbourne street and the few birds left in the area, got to experience slightly cleaner air.
For this peaceful demonstration we are being charged with criminal damage, while the government still fails to act on the issue. We are all pleading Not Guilty.
Please come down to Westminster Magistrates court to show your support.
We do not know what our collective fees will be. Any surplus money will be put into the general XR arrestee support fund to support others going through the criminal justice system.
Anything you can give would be hugely appreciated, and we hope to see you there.
Help us send a message that we do not stand alone in fighting for the right to clean air.
