Why are we looking for funding?
We are looking to raise funds to continue to offer the young females within our club and the wider community, a place to play, train at a high level but also offer a safe space and enjoyable place to stay active and make friends.
We are providing twice-a-week training and weekly matches in the Girls Junior Premier League One for our teams and have many talented females that have the potential to go on to play at the highest level in the Women's Pyramid.
The tools we have provided for training and facilities are of a high quality and this has only been possible due to generous sponsorship so far. We believe that young females have always been secondary to the boys academy systems, which is why we have created a female centric club that isn't dictated by a male parent club. We felt that it is time the scales were balanced and young females were provided with the same opportunities, treatment and support as boys academies receive.
However, we need to raise some funds to allow to continue to offer this for all of the young females involved. Training pitches, match day hire, referees, coaches, match kits and equipment for the year are just some of our expenses and we need some serious help raising the cash to pay for these costs. Due to COVID-19 we had to cancel our annual fundraising football competition in the summer and the winter which has prevented us from raising the funds to financial survive the season. To save costs, our coaches have all agreed to work on a voluntary basis which is fantastic but not enough.
The reason we are trying to raise 10k is cover the following costs;
Training Pitch Hire; £5600 per season (£140pw x 40weeks)
Match Pitch Hire; £2500 per season
Match Referee Fees; £690 per season
Equipment, £170 per season
- 12xBalls (£70 x 2 teams) £140
- 10xBibs (£20 x 2 teams) £40
- Cones (£15 x 2 teams) £30
- Medical kit and top-up (£30 x 2 teams) £60
Any donations would make a huge difference and can help towards completely our season.
Floodlit Trophy Competition!
XL@Football will be hosting a girls 5-a-side Floodlit Trophy Competition for U10s to U16s girls teams in the Kent area to raise money for the club. The competition will take place over two evenings in January, this will be split into an evening of group games and an evening of semi-finals, third place finals and finals.
Entry into the competition is £60 per team and will guarantee 150 minutes of football. This competition will provide the community with the opportunity to allow young girls to not only play freely and competitively with their teams but also their friends, we encourage teams to sign up if they have friends that they want to play football with but are restricted as they do not play for the same football club.
We aim to host this competition frequently throughout the season and hope that this can help provide young girls with another opportunity to grow and develop as young footballers in a safe, fun and rewarding environment.
Sport England have launched an ‘Active Together’ campaign whereby they will match any funding raised through Crowdfunder, to a maximum grant of £10,000.
Thank you for reading and considering our campaign. We hope you are able to support our club and the opportunity for all Kent-based girls to continue to be able to play football.
