We are all Explorer Scouts. George belongs to Tenerrimo ESU in Cleveleys, Erin to Tankensuro ESU in Garstang and Charlotte to Unknown ESU in Fleetwood.
As scouts we seek adventure and new opportunities and recognise that being selected to represent Wyre District at the World Scout Jamboree is a huge honour. Here's a little more about the Jamboree:
The People: The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is the largest regular international Scouting event, gathering up to 50,000 Scouts from more than 150 countries around the World.
The Place: The 24th World Scout Jamboree is being hosted in North America jointly by Canada, Mexico and the United States of America. It will take place at the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA from July 22 – August 2, 2019.
The Experience: The World Scout Jamboree includes many activities available at the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve. Watch this great video about the Jamboree:
Getting there: As a team we need to raise a total of £7,500 to be part of the fabulous Jamboree experience. We've attended a number of scouts and public events and sold merchandise and done other fundraising activities but there's still a fair way to go which is why we need your help today.
A New Challenge: To show our commitment, dedication and spirit, we've organised the
1st Annual Explorer Scout Hut to Hut Challenge2018
A hike over two days covering 35 miles and visiting 13 Scout huts in Wyre District.
We are being joined on the hike by Rhiann and Josh from Garstang and Harry and Ella from Fleetwood.
Friday 31st August and Saturday 1st September 2019 visiting all of the following scout huts:
- 1st Poulton; 4th Poulton; 1st Carleton; 1st Thornton; 1st Thornton Cleveleys; 2nd Cleveleys; 1st Fleetwood; 16th Fleetwood; 1st Pilling; 1st Stalmine; 1st Hambleton; 1st Garstang; 1st Calder Vale
